Online Security Increases in Member Account Access Area
You will notice changes when you log on to the Member Account Access area of the TRS Web site, trs.illinois.gov. New sign-in steps will ensure that your online information stays confidential and demonstrates how TRS is maintaining the high level of security you expect from us.
Improvements include:

Additional personalized sign-in screens that make it difficult for anyone other than you to log on to your account.
- Eliminated the use of “snail” mail to receive your user ID and password. Immediate access is available with the proper information.
- An e-mail is automatically sent to you if any changes are made to your online account.
- If you forget your user ID or password, you will need to know your member ID to gain access to your account. This number can be located on the TRS Benefits Report that is annually mailed to active and inactive members. New members and retired members (unless they kept a past report) will have to call TRS for their
member ID.
The new sign in changes will take just a few minutes to set up the first time you log on. Other than the enhanced sign in, the Member Account Access features remain unchanged.
