The following definitions are provided to help you understand terms we regularly use in our seminars, correspondence, and publications. These definitions are general, not technical, in nature. For detailed definitions, please see the Illinois Pension Code, Article 16.

Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)
The laws of the State of Illinois, arranged in a numerical order that classifies the laws according to their subject matter. The ILCS numbers are used to cite laws in legal and other documents.
Information Bulletin
A bulletin providing periodic news and information targeted to a specific category of members or annuitants.
IRS Form 1099-R
An annual tax form issued by the Office of the Comptroller that lists gross contributions, taxable and non-taxable amounts, and federal withholding. Three copies are provided for tax returns.
