 Account Access Questions

How do I get into the Member Account Access area?

You need to start the process to get a password and user ID for Account Access.

Click on the "Account Access" button. Read the Privacy Notice, then click the "New User" button. On the New User page, enter your Social Security number and birth date. Then click “Submit.” If your Social Security number and birth date match those we have on file for you, a new page will open that will instruct you to create a user ID.

After you create a user ID, you will receive a message stating “We have received your request. TRS will send you a letter containing your user ID and a system-generated password. Please allow three to five business days for delivery.”

Do not attempt to access your member account information until you receive your letter from TRS. Any attempt to access your account before receiving your letter may prevent you from accessing your account with the user ID and password contained in the letter.

I'm having trouble accessing my account. What do I do?

Your password is case sensitive. You must exactly type the upper and lower case letters for the user ID and password.

After you have made four unsuccessful attempts at accessing your account, you will be returned to the home page and your member account access information will be changed for security reasons. A letter containing your user ID and password will be mailed to you via the U.S. Postal Service. Please allow three to five business days for delivery.

Is there a certain type of browser I should use on the Internet?

The secured Account Access area is best viewed using the latest version of Internet Explorer or Firefox.

I've forgotten my user ID or password. What do I do?

Go to the Secured Account Access page. Click the "Forgot Password" button to establish a new password.

On the Forgot Password page, enter your Social Security number and birth date. Then click "Submit." You will receive a message stating, "We have received your request. TRS will send you a letter containing your user ID and password. Please allow 3 to 5 business days for delivery." For security reasons, TRS does not provide your user ID or password online or through e-mail.

Do not attempt to access your member account information until you receive your letter from TRS. Any attempt to access your account before receiving your letter may prevent you from accessing your account with the user ID and password contained in the letter.

TRS has added a new feature to the Web site. How do I gain access to it?

Information about new features will appear on the opening page of Account Access.

I have a question about the information that I'm viewing. What do I do?
