A refund of your TRS contributions can be requested via email at members@trs.illinois.gov.

Please include:

• your full name, address, and the last 4 digits of your Social Security number
• and the month and year you last worked in a TRS position.

TRS will send you the paperwork by regular mail.

TRS cannot issue a refund check until four months have elapsed from your last date of contributing service.
